Community Resource Program – El Centro of Topeka

El Centro of Topeka is one of the few organizations in Topeka that provides culturally sensitive assistance to low income Hispanic families. Since opening its doors in 1972 the goal has been to be a trusted community resource center for individuals and families in need of help. Our services are designed to address the needs of our clients. Many of our clients speak very limited English and lack familiarity with programs and resources available to them.

Today we continue to strive to keep the spirit of service that Father Ramon exemplified…

El Centro’s mission is to strengthen communities and improve the lives of Latinos and others through educational, social and economic opportunities.

Capital City Christian Chamber of Commerce https://kansassmallbizdirectory.com/city/topeka/listing/capital-city-christian-chamber-of-commerce/ Sat, 05 Mar 2022 14:28:40 +0000 http://www.ussmallbizdirectory.org/city/na/listing/capital-city-christian-chamber-of-commerce/

C5: Topeka-area business and service people, united by their faith in Jesus Christ, aiming to make a positive impact in our community.

There are many business/networking groups in Topeka, but the Capital City Christian Chamber of Commerce (C5) is different. C5 offers the opportunity for area Christian business people and service organizations to be involved in a group without feeling they should in any way suppress their faith.

C5 members believe biblical principles should be ingrained into every aspect of our lives, including our businesses and careers – that Christ should be on display by the way we conduct our business affairs.

The goal of C5 is to inform, educate and motivate Christian business and service people to excel in the marketplace, allowing God to bless their efforts, and enabling the Christian community to work together in devoting time and resources to serving the people of Topeka.

C5 offers a monthly lunch-hour meeting, providing opportunity for fellowship and networking, and occasional casual mixer-type events in the evening. Other special events, such as  the Topeka Easter Parade & Fun Fair, annual tradeshow or Christmas party, are held at various times during the year.

The Kansas Black Leadership Council formed out of a desire to ensure the voice and the position of the state’s African-American community are clearly heard on issues we find important. We envision a Kansas where African Americans are able to overcome systemic level inequalities and thrive. We will accomplish this through research, education, voter engagement, and advocacy.

Our plan is to strongly advocate for issues we feel are of  primary importance to our community and to lend our voice in support of other issues and organizations, where our interests intercept.

It’s a united approach for Kansas’ Black community.

• The main goal of the Kansas Black Leadership Council is to advocate for the adoption of policies on a state and local level that positively impact Kansas’ African-American community.

main-logo.png• Like other groups, our platform will be forwarded to elected officials, and the media.  It will also be posted online, with back-up literature for everyone to read and understand.

• The position of Black Kansans will be clearly communicated.

• Help us bring our issues and concerns to the forefront.

KBLC seeks partners, allies and champions who are willing to help reimagine a new ecosystem for Black Kansans.
