Small Purchases Not Exceeding $1,999.99
To the greatest extent practical, quotations shall be solicited from more than one qualified bidder to enhance competition. Purchasing requirements shall not be split in order to circumvent competitive bidding. City staff can also use their city issued purchasing card for small purchases.
Open Market Purchase $2,000.00 through $10,000.00
All purchases initiated on purchasing requisitions that are estimated to be $2,000.00 or more, but not exceeding an aggregate amount of $10,000.00, shall be purchased according to the Open Market Purchasing Procedure, which is the responsible City staff member providing quotes received to the Buyer in Contracts and Procurement for review and approval of the purchase.
This procedure shall encourage, to the greatest extent practical, competition by obtaining at least three (3) telephone or written quotations.
