SuperSonic Music

A local music-hub with roots and variety. Supersonic Music was founded in 1998, when owner Derek Sharp took over a previous music store on Topeka’s 6th Avenue.  Over time, the store expanded not just as a retail shop, but into a full-service music center: besides selling guitars, drums, keyboards, PA gear and other instruments, they also offer instrument repair, gear sales, and even custom drum builds via their affiliate TreeHouse Custom Drums.

A welcoming place for musicians, beginners to pros. What sets Supersonic apart is its attitude: the staff emphasize honesty, respect, and a friendly environment — no pushy “you-touch-it-you-buy-it” pressure.  Their downtown Topeka location (117 SE 6th Ave) includes five teaching studios in a converted basement, where students can take drum or guitar lessons in a comfortable setting.
