Topeka Youth Project

The Topeka Youth Project is a nonprofit organization based in Topeka, Kansas, dedicated to empowering youth ages 14 to 21 through job readiness training, life skills development, and community involvement. Established in 1982, the organization focuses on preparing young people for successful futures by helping them gain essential employment and leadership skills. Its primary program, Jobs for Young Adults (JYA), offers personalized coaching in resume writing, interviewing, financial literacy, and digital communication.

In addition to workforce preparation, the Topeka Youth Project connects youth with mentors and local businesses, offering mock interviews, job shadowing, and volunteer opportunities to build confidence and real-world experience. While the organization previously ran the impactful Youth Court program, it now concentrates its efforts on the JYA program and community engagement initiatives.

Through partnerships with schools, businesses, and community members, the Topeka Youth Project continues to be a vital resource for helping youth achieve independence and success. Businesses and individuals can support the project through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer work, playing a key role in shaping the next generation of professionals and community leaders.
